The saga of 16-year-old Ajay Tavares's transfer to FC Barcelona has come to an end. The club reached an agreement to sign the former Norwich player in the final stage of the winter transfer window, but bureaucratic issues delayed the announcement of his signing, which have now been resolved.

After weeks of negotiations, Barcelona obtained FIFA's approval for the transfer, and Ajay Tavares is now in Barcelona to undergo a medical examination and sign his contract as a Blaugrana.

An international at youth levels for England, Ajay Tavares also holds a Portuguese passport, allowing him to leave the United Kingdom before turning 18. Despite his young age, he stands out for his well-developed physique, enabling him to compete at a high level against players two or three years older.

His rapid development caught attention both in England and abroad, but Barcelona acted quickly to secure him for the future.

The plan is for Ajay Tavares to strengthen the Juvenil squad led by Pol Planas and gradually join Belletti's Barça Atlètic team.
