Barcelona already knows one of their two potential rivals in the Champions League round of 16.
The Champions League playoffs are nearing their conclusion, with some teams already confirmed for the round of 16. Tonight, four teams will secure their spots, while another four will play on Wednesday.
As Barcelona finished second in the group stage, they have only two possible opponents left: the winners of Monaco vs PSG and Qarabag vs Newcastle.
The new Champions League format, implemented last season, pairs teams in the playoffs and round of 16 based on their group stage performance. Alongside Barcelona, Chelsea (5th) and Crystal Palace (6th) also know their potential opponents.
Newcastle has confirmed their progression after a dominant 6-0 first-leg win against Qarabag, with Anthony Gordon scoring four goals.
In the other playoff, PSG advanced after overturning a 0-2 first-leg deficit to win 3-2 against Monaco.
Barcelona will learn its next rival on February 27th, when the round of 16 draw is held.
