Atlético Madrid is reportedly preparing for the possibility of Julián Álvarez leaving the club and has identified Barcelona forward Ferran Torres as a preferred replacement candidate.

Spanish media indicate that although negotiations between Atlético and Barcelona over Álvarez remain distant, Atlético’s sporting director Mateu Alemany has long admired Torres. Alemany considers Torres an ideal addition due to his versatility across the front line and his La Liga experience.

Ferran’s situation at Barcelona has become more complicated with the recent arrival of Karim Adeyemi, increasing competition in the attacking positions. Earlier, Barcelona did not plan to sell Torres and even considered renewing his contract, but the addition of new attacking options may shift the club’s plans.

No formal negotiations regarding Torres’s transfer have yet started, but Atlético is closely monitoring the evolving circumstances around Álvarez and stands ready to act if the Argentine forward eventually moves on.
