Spain U19 coach David Aznar has selected seven players from FC Barcelona’s reserve side for training sessions in San Pedro del Pinatar (Murcia) from February 16 to 18. These sessions are part of the build-up to the Second Round of the UEFA U19 European Championship qualifiers, which will be played in Portugal between the 12th and the 18th.

The seven called-up Barça players are goalkeeper Rocío Romano (18); defenders Marina González (18) and Noa Jiménez (19); midfielder Rosalía Domínguez (17); and forwards Anna Quer (17), Lúa Arufe (17) and Naalia Esco (19).

Spain have been drawn into Group A7 for this Second Round. Their opponents in the group are hosts Portugal, Northern Ireland and Hungary. The Spanish side will need to finish top of the group to advance to the competition’s final stage.

A top-place finish would secure automatic qualification to the final tournament, which will take place in Bosnia and Herzegovina from June 27 to July 10. If Spain do not finish first in the group, they will not reach the final phase.

Spain enters the event as four-time consecutive champions. In the last edition six Barcelona players were in the squad, including two currently registered with the first team: Aïcha Cámara (19) and Clara Serrajordi (18). From the reserve side, Maria Llorella (19) — who made her first-team debut last Sunday against DUX Logroño — Emma Gálvez (19), Ainoa Gómez (18) — who scored her first goal for the first team against Madrid CFF in matchday 15 — and Celia Segura (18) completed that list.
