Sergio and Carlos Busquets fulfilled a long-held dream by playing together in the same team for the first time. This historic event took place during the Barcelona Legends match against Liverpool Legends at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in South Korea.

Carlos was goalkeeper for the legendary Johan Cruyff era 'Dream Team', while his son Sergio made his debut under Pep Guardiola’s management. Their playing careers never overlapped, as Sergio only retired from professional football in 2026 after his spell with Inter Miami.

Other former players took part in the match as well, including Mascherano, Jordi Alba—who also retired this season—and Deco and Bojan, who are now part of Barcelona’s sports management.

The game ended with a commanding 8-3 victory for Barça Legends, the biggest margin under coach Albert Ferrer. Goals were scored by Kluivert, Rivaldo, Nolito (3), Iniesta, and Tello (2).

Now retired, Sergio and Carlos Busquets continue to maintain a special connection with the club, bridging generations and carrying Barcelona’s traditions forward.
