Javier Alberola Rojas will referee the match between FC Barcelona and Levante on Sunday at 16:15 at the Spotify Camp Nou stadium.

Currently considered one of the best referees in his category, the manchego official was recently promoted to Europe's second-tier group. This will be his third match officiating a Barcelona game this season and the first at home. Previously, he handled away wins for the team: 4-2 against Celta and 2-0 against Villarreal.

In May 2019, during a crucial league match, some of Alberola's decisions sparked controversy and led to Barcelona losing the lead position, provoking public complaints from the coach and players.

Alberola has officiated a total of 12 Barcelona matches with a record of nine wins, two draws, and one loss (in May 2023 against Real Sociedad). For Levante, it will be the first time facing this referee this season.

Since January 1, 2026, Alberola Rojas has been promoted to UEFA's FIRST referee group, alongside referees like Ricardo de Burgos Bengoechea and Juan Martínez Munuera. Sunday's game will be his 14th match of the current season.

The VAR will be managed by Andalusian Jorge Figueroa Vázquez, who has previously intervened to correct on-field decisions, including in matches involving Barcelona in La Liga.
