Recent information from Spanish media indicates that Rafael Leao, AC Milan’s key forward and a Portuguese national team player, has emerged again as a potential interest for FC Barcelona.
Currently, his arrival is not a priority for the Catalan club, which is focused on signing a new striker and aims to avoid paying a large fee for a permanent deal.
Barcelona could contemplate a loan deal for the 27-year-old attacker without any mandatory purchase obligation, similar to the arrangement made last season with Marcus Rashford. However, AC Milan reportedly insists on including a mandatory buy clause in any loan agreement.
Given that Barcelona was unwilling to spend over €30 million to keep Rashford permanently, it seems unlikely they would commit to a bigger fee for Leao. Negotiations have reached a deadlock with no significant progress so far.
The player himself appears to be open to leaving Serie A this summer. While Barcelona values his explosive qualities, they have also added Anthony Gordon recently and have Julián Álvarez as a clear priority.
The prospect of Leao moving to Barcelona remains speculative unless the clubs can agree on loan terms without compulsory purchase.
