FC Barcelona president Rafa Yuste will attend the solemn Mass officiated by Pope Leo XIV at the Sagrada Familia basilica on June 10, 2026. The event marks the centenary of Antoni Gaudí’s death, the cathedral’s architect.
The ceremony will start at 7:30 PM and include institutional and religious authorities from Catalonia. After the Mass, the tower of Jesus Christ will be blessed and inaugurated with a special drone light show highlighting Gaudí’s creativity.
Earlier that day at noon, Rafa Yuste and the club’s president-elect Joan Laporta will attend the Holy Rosary prayer at Montserrat Monastery, featuring choral performances by Escolania de Montserrat.
FC Barcelona is the only sports club that signed the welcome letter to Pope Leo XIV in Catalonia, emphasizing the Catalan language and its connection to Gaudí’s legacy.
The club’s official participation reflects its cultural and historical ties with Catalonia and its institutions.
