Pep Guardiola took part in the inauguration of the second Cruyff Court in Manresa, named after him and located at La Salle school where he studied as a child.
The event was attended by local authorities and school leaders. Guardiola played briefly with young players on the new pitch, which will be open during school hours and beyond.
Speaking to the press, he praised Bernardo Silva’s adaptability and Julián Álvarez’s quality. About his future, Guardiola said he plans to stay in Manresa and joked about becoming a teacher at La Salle.
Guardiola also commented on the Champions League’s impact on club projects, stating that the competition “destroys projects” and expressing hope that this won’t be the case for Barcelona. He stressed the importance of players being fit and the influence of refereeing in the Champions League and urged not to judge a season poorly solely based on Champions League results.
