Mikel Oyarzabal, captain of Real Sociedad and Spanish international, has recently been linked with a move to Barcelona.

According to Spanish media, the 29-year-old forward maintains full concentration on the FIFA World Cup despite rising speculation about his future. In an interview, Oyarzabal acknowledged the transfer talk but said, “If people are talking about it, it’s because they think you’re doing things right, but I don’t attach much importance to it or waste much time on such things.”

Regarding his contract situation, he confirmed there have been no renewal talks yet and he still has two years remaining with Real Sociedad. “Real Sociedad and Donosti are my home. It’s my safe haven, where I grew up, and the club that gave me the chance to be here today. So I’m not worried.”

Oyarzabal also praised Barcelona’s young winger Lamine Yamal, highlighting the impact the 18-year-old has already made for Spain. “Playing alongside him makes all the difference. He causes a lot of chaos for the opposition simply by his presence.”

While Barcelona could see Oyarzabal as an option to strengthen their attack, the forward clearly states that his current priority is helping his national team at the World Cup.
