FC Barcelona will recall players not involved in the World Cup on July 13 to the Ciutat Esportiva for fitness tests and to begin preparation for the 2026/27 season.
Shortly after the start of preseason training, the team is set to travel to the United Kingdom for a training camp, where they will play two friendlies against second division teams.
Following the UK camp, the club is exploring the option of playing one preseason friendly in Italy against Serie A side Udinese, potentially at the beginning of August. Italy’s proximity to Spain and England is considered advantageous to limit travel strain and keep the squad fresh.
As of now, negotiations are preliminary with no agreements finalized. The board of directors will make the final decision during a meeting next Tuesday, primarily to confirm the opponent for the Joan Gamper Trophy match on August 19. Four teams remain under consideration to face Barcelona in that fixture.
These preseason friendlies and the Joan Gamper match will allow fans to see new players such as Anthony Gordon before the competitive season begins.
