FC Barcelona continue their active search for a striker for next season: Flick needs a No. 9, and Lewandowski's departure at the end of the campaign increasingly looks possible. The club does not want to stand still in the face of that possibility.
From Italy, one name has re-emerged — Marcus Thuram. Italian outlet CalcioMercato reports that the Blaugrana would be willing to negotiate with Inter Milan for the signing of their forward, whose contract runs until 2028 and who is valued at around €60 million.
Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur also places Thuram as an option for Barcelona, noting on X that Inter are reluctant to sell and would not consider offers below €80 million.
This is not the first time Thuram has been linked with Barça: in the summer transfer window of 2023, when he was leaving Borussia Mönchengladbach, he was offered to the club several times, but Barcelona ultimately opted for a younger, high-potential profile in Vitor Roque.
The article notes that Marcus has already worn the blaugrana shirt at Barça Escola when his father, Lilian Thuram, defended the club's colors. He is also reportedly wanted by other major European clubs such as Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
The 28-year-old remains an important piece in Cristian Chivu’s system, as he was in Simone Inzaghi’s setup last season. At Inter he operates as a second striker behind Lautaro Martínez. In 2025/2026 he has scored 12 goals (7 in the league) and provided 5 assists in all competitions, compared with Lautaro’s 18 (14 in the league). Barça have already seen his ability to score early — he opened the scoring in the first minute of the Champions League semi-final first leg against Inter last season. Marcus’s future remains to be seen while Barcelona’s offices keep working.
