Barcelona continues its search for young talents and has shown interest in 18-year-old winger Jesse Bisiwu from Club Brugge. According to Spanish media, he is considered a priority signing because of his technical ability, solid physique (height 1.85m), and promising potential.
The club already made an offer for Bisiwu that Brugge deemed insufficient. Negotiations are ongoing, with Barcelona representatives – including scouting chief Joao Amaral and sports director Deco – traveling to Belgium to discuss the transfer in person.
Bisiwu is under contract with Brugge until 2027, and the Belgian club is aware of the player’s value, taking a firm stance in negotiations. Despite being a key talent in their youth setup, Bisiwu was substituted in only 4 minutes in the Youth League semifinal against Real Madrid, illustrating Brugge's strategic hardline approach to negotiations.
Barcelona sees him as a player who, despite his youth, can gradually gain minutes between the B team and first team, especially since coach Hansi Flick favors young talented wingers. Considering the possible departures of other young wingers like Roony Bardghji and Dani Rodríguez, Bisiwu could become part of Barcelona’s attacking future.
Barcelona’s clear focus on young talent is evident in recent signings such as Egyptian striker Hamza Abdelkarim, Uruguayan left-back Patricio Pacífico, and English winger Ajay Tavares, along with two young players from Tenerife. If Bisiwu’s signing progresses, it could affect Barcelona’s interest in another young winger, 19-year-old Jan Virgili from Mallorca.
The situation remains fluid as Barcelona pursues young prospects to strengthen their squad.
