Marcos Senesi, the Argentine defender, has officially joined English side Tottenham after his contract with Bournemouth ended. He signed a deal until 2030, with an option to extend for one more year.
At 29 years old, Senesi was considered a potential signing for Barcelona due to his free agent status and his role as a left-sided centre-back. However, the club chose to focus on other transfer priorities and did not pursue him.
In his first statement after signing, Senesi said, "It’s a very special feeling to become a Tottenham Hotspur player. From the very beginning, the club showed me how much they want me and how eager they are for me to be part of what they are building. I will give my best every time I step onto the pitch to make the fans proud and bring the club back to where it belongs. I want to win titles with Tottenham and will do everything possible to make it happen."
Senesi’s arrival may trigger changes in Tottenham’s defensive lineup, as players like Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero might seek moves to clubs competing in European competitions next season.
