Only 11 days remain until Joan Laporta and his board officially take control of FC Barcelona. Laporta won the elections on March 15 with 32,934 votes (68.18%) against Víctor Font’s 14,385 (29.78%). The inauguration ceremony is scheduled for the afternoon of July 1 at the Auditori 1899 of Spotify Camp Nou.

Rafa Yuste, serving as interim president since February 9 following Laporta’s and nine other directors’ resignations to run for re-election, will hand over power to Laporta, whose mandate will last until 2031. Yuste will remain as first vice president and head of the sporting area. Other board members continuing from the 2021-26 term include Josep Cubells, Alfons Castro, Josep Ignasi Macià, Àngel Riudalbas, Joan Solé, and Sisco Pujol, with their mandate ending June 30, when the last ordinary meeting of the current board will take place.

Laporta will present the main lines of his project up to 2031, focusing on completing the Spotify Camp Nou and the rest of Espai Barça, including the new Palau Blaugrana, achieving full economic recovery, and maintaining and enhancing sporting excellence across all professional teams.

After nearly five months away from club management, Elena Fort, Antonio Escudero, Ferran Olivé, Joan Soler, Xavi Puig, Aureli Mas, Xavier Barbany, Miquel Camps, and Josep Maria Albert will also return to the board. The five new members announced during the 'Defensem el Barça' electoral campaign are Carles Ayats, Xavier Barniol, Carme Hortalà, Jaume Nicolás, and Jaume Santiveri.

Following the latest reform of the statutes in 2022, the maximum number of board members was increased from 21 to 25. Starting July 1, the board will comprise 22 members rather than 17, with a minimum of 14 required.
