Barcelona continues to emphasize social responsibility through its Foundation — a key club institution that demonstrated significant achievements in the past season by implementing projects addressing crucial social issues. Club and Foundation leadership reviewed the work done, highlighting educational programs, support for vulnerable groups, and the strengthening of emotional well-being.

During the recent Board of Trustees meeting, chaired by Rafa Yuste, a detailed assessment of the Foundation's activity was presented. Dr. Marta Segú, the Foundation's general director, reported on over 60 initiatives covering education, social inclusion, health, and psychological support on both local and international levels. Special emphasis was placed on how these projects reaffirm the club’s core values.

The main strategic directions for the next season will focus on expanding educational platforms and boosting social integration projects, responding to the contemporary challenges faced by society and the sports industry alike. The new operational cycle begins on July 1, aiming not only to maintain current programs but also to launch innovative initiatives.

Alongside this social progress, the club is attentive to internal squad changes. Notably, goalkeeper Iñaki Peña is set to depart for Panathinaikos in a permanent transfer valued around 3 million euros. Despite his potential and efforts, Peña struggled to secure a consistent first-team place amid strong competition.

At the same time, the club welcomes new players to strengthen the squad for the upcoming season. Among them is English winger Anthony Gordon, who impressively attacks free spaces and applies pressure on opponents. Defender Eric García notes that Gordon’s qualities raise competition levels within the squad and positively impact the team’s overall performance.

There is firm confidence that efforts on both sporting and social fronts will continue to bear fruit, creating optimal conditions for a successful 2026/27 season. In this context, the Foundation's work is an integral part of Barcelona’s sustainable development and a prime example of sport and society interaction in the modern world.
