The 46-year-old former Barcelona player and coach, Xavi Hernandez, is eager to return to management after leaving the club in 2024.
In an interview with RNE, he revealed his preference for leading a national team, citing family reasons: "A national team would suit me well on a family level. A club wouldn’t allow me to be with my family as much, as I have young children."
Xavi expressed his desire to participate as a coach in major tournaments: "I’ll say it openly, it would suit me. I’m eager to participate as a coach in a World Cup, a European Championship, an Africa Cup of Nations, an Asian Cup."
With the 2026 World Cup concluding soon, coaching vacancies within national sides might open up in the coming weeks and months.
Although linked with several European clubs, Xavi’s priority aligns with roles that accommodate his family life and involvement in major international competitions.
