Barcelona is in advanced talks to sign defender Jorge Salinas from Racing Santander.

Spanish media report that Barcelona is unwilling to meet Racing's full asking price due to a valuation dispute. Initially, the Blaugrana expected to pay €8 million, but Racing's promotion to LaLiga led to the price doubling to €16 million.

To close the gap, Barcelona is considering including several youth academy players in the deal, although the exact names remain undisclosed. Additionally, a season-long loan back to Racing is on the table, with super-agent Jorge Mendes managing the player's affairs.

Salinas is also being tracked by Atletico Madrid, underscoring his reputation as a versatile defender. The 19-year-old recently won the European Under-19 Championship with Spain, highlighting his potential.

His contract with Racing runs until June 2029, giving him significant influence over his future. Meanwhile, Barcelona continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the next season, also nearing signings of Karim Adeyemi and Jesse Bisiwu in different positions.
