Joan Laporta’s presidency at Barcelona recently ended, and the former administrator is running to return to power in next month’s elections.

He shares a deep connection not only with other board members but also with manager Hansi Flick and the entire dressing room.

One player he especially cares for is Gavi. The youngster has suffered from poor fitness for some time but is on the verge of a return and is expected to step onto the field in the coming weeks.

Laporta speaks about Gavi

In a recent media interview, former Barcelona president Joan Laporta spoke about Gavi’s return from injury and described the young player as a warrior.

“Gavi has been really suffering since his injury; he has been crying,” he began.

“He would do anything to play; he would play on crutches if necessary,” he added, highlighting his passion.

Regarding Gavi’s recovery progress, Laporta said,

“At Barcelona, we are very satisfied with Gavi’s progress.”

“When someone suffers a serious injury, it is tough on the whole dressing room, but the medical staff, coaches, and his family all worked together to ensure his recovery went as well as possible,” he added.

The Spanish businessman then discussed reasons why continuity in the Barcelona presidency makes sense, indirectly asking members to vote him back.

“Barcelona members are asking us to finish Spotify Camp Nou and keep the current sporting structure because they are excited about Flick on the bench and Deco in management and want the project to continue.”

“At Barcelona, we cannot risk someone without experience coming in and destroying everything we have worked so hard to build,” he added.
