In recent days the name of 23‑year‑old Barcelona defender Gerard Marín has been linked to Milan. However, according to Mundo Deportivo, the player has no intention of "listening" to the Italian club: he is happy at Barcelona, the club he dreamed of as a child, and has earned an important role in the first team.
Christensen’s injury, Araujo’s layoff and Eric Garcia being used in midfield opened opportunities for Marín. He raised his standing in the squad and put together several consecutive matches in the heart of the defence. This season he has already featured in 34 games, logged more than 1,700 minutes and is the 12th most used player by Flick.
In January 2025 he renewed until 2028 with a €100 million release clause. Despite Milan’s interest, Marín is not planning to listen to offers and is happy in Barcelona.
