The international break has helped Barcelona midfielder Gavi recover from a serious knee injury. After undergoing arthroscopic surgery, he is steadily regaining full fitness though not yet ready for a starting role.

This season, Gavi featured in only three matches, including eight minutes against Sevilla in mid-March. He missed the games against Rayo Vallecano and two Champions League fixtures against Newcastle due to lack of match rhythm.

With a demanding end to the season, featuring La Liga and Champions League battles, coach Hans Flick plans to gradually reintroduce Gavi into the squad. Even if not starting immediately, the midfielder’s return is regarded as an important boost.
