Simultaneously, Barcelona is working on the sale of young midfielder Marc Casado, whose playing time declined last season amid increased competition in midfield. Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal is pushing hard for Casado, offering approximately €30 million along with a lucrative contract. However, Casado remains hesitant about moving to Saudi Arabia at this stage of his career and is evaluating European offers, including interest from AC Milan. Atletico Madrid had previously expressed interest but has since cooled off.
Should Kounde depart, Barcelona is considering replacements such as Andrei Ratiu and Andrea Cambiaso. Additionally, Joao Cancelo, currently on loan at Al-Hilal, could return to serve as a left-back, a position favored by head coach Hansi Flick.
Transfer decisions, especially regarding Kounde, are expected after the conclusion of France’s participation in the 2026 World Cup. The club strives to finalize these transactions ahead of the preseason training scheduled for mid-July to ensure squad stability before the new campaign begins.
