Barcelona midfielder Pedri has earned high praise from one of the top midfielders of the modern era, Thiago Alcantara.
On the podcast Rio Ferdinand Presents, Thiago named Pedri “the best midfield player in the world right now” and shared that he has the same feeling with him as he did playing alongside Andrés Iniesta.
“He has that plasticity and diagonal movement, always seeing what’s happening around and making the right decisions,” Thiago explained. He also observed Pedri both as a player and later as a coach with Hansi Flick’s staff.
Barcelona are fortunate to have Pedri and can expect him to maintain his high standards in the seasons ahead.
