Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has made the 28-year-old forward Marcus Rashford his top priority for the club’s summer transfer window. Rashford joined the Catalan club on loan from Manchester United earlier this season and quickly became a key part of the team’s attacking setup.
Initially viewed as a temporary fix, Rashford’s strong performances have sparked serious talks about making his stay permanent. Barcelona holds an option to buy the player permanently for around €30 million, which would simplify negotiations between the clubs.
Meanwhile, sporting director Deco is exploring alternative candidates for the left-wing position, including Pedro Neto, who has attracted European interest. However, Flick has made it clear internally that Rashford is his preferred choice to strengthen the left side of the attack.
The club’s leadership is not rushing the decision and plans to evaluate Rashford’s contributions as the season progresses before committing long-term. Still, the coach’s backing and the favorable buy option make a permanent transfer for Rashford increasingly plausible.
