Cameroonian footballer Eyong (22 years old) was one of the standout names at the start of the La Liga season and even caught the attention of FC Barcelona, who considered signing him as a future forward.
However, his performance has alarmingly declined in recent months, and he is currently going through a crisis. After starting the season with six goals and several assists in the first ten matches, since games against Villarreal and Levante on October 26, Eyong hasn't scored or assisted for his club — a stretch of 12 matches without goal contributions. This poor run has led to criticism from the ‘Granada’ fans, who expected a new version of the striker given his early-season form.
Eyong will now face Barcelona for the first time, as in the first leg he was still playing for Villarreal. In the upcoming match in Ciudad de Valencia, he aims to break his worrying goal drought.
