Barcelona lost 2-1 to Girona at Estadi Montilivi in La Liga on Monday in a match marked by controversial officiating.

Beyond the defeat, Barcelona also lost a key player to a physical problem: defender Eric García was withdrawn with muscular discomfort.

According to SPORT, García — who has played in every match this season for Barcelona — was substituted in the 73rd minute after feeling discomfort in the back of his thigh. He was able to walk off the pitch unaided but left visibly frustrated.

He will undergo medical tests to determine the issue; initial sensations were not positive. It remains to be seen how long García will be sidelined and whether he will be available to face Levante later this weekend.
