Barcelona star Dani Olmo recently shared his thoughts on Marc Cucurella’s summer transfer to Real Madrid.
The former Barcelona defender signed a six-year contract with Los Blancos, which came as a surprise to many, including Olmo. In an interview with Sport, Olmo said, "We didn't expect it. He kept it inside, if that's what he wanted, I'm happy for him because he's my friend, now he's going to have to suffer in the league and so will we. He's going to have to suffer against Lamine, for example."
Olmo also spoke about Real Madrid’s transfer activity, remaining unconcerned by their reinforcements this summer. "It's normal that after two years without a win they are reinforced, they are world-class players, but we are not worried," he added. "We have made a great signing with Gordon and we are happy."
Real Madrid have also signed Bernardo Silva and Ibrahima Konate and are expected to complete a deal for Denzel Dumfries. Barcelona, meanwhile, has brought in Anthony Gordon and continues its pursuit of Julián Álvarez.
Olmo’s comments highlight his friendly relationship with Cucurella but also underline the intense competition expected in La Liga this season, especially against emerging talents like Lamine Yamal from Barcelona.
