Liverpool officially confirmed the signing of Víctor Muñoz, a Barcelona-born forward who trained at La Masia. Born on July 13, 2003, Muñoz joined the English club from Osasuna after a strong season that earned him a place in Spain’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
Before Osasuna, Muñoz spent three years at Barcelona’s academy from 2014 to 2017, later advancing his development at the Damm academy and then joining Real Madrid’s youth system. Liverpool highlighted his time at La Masia as a key element of his football education.
His transfer to Liverpool came shortly after being close to a deal with Newcastle United. There had also been reports linking him to a possible return to Real Madrid, which still owns 50% of his registration rights.
Liverpool noted that Muñoz "was born in Barcelona and trained in Catalonia’s most famous academy," reflecting La Masia's international reputation as one of the world’s leading football development centres.
