FC Barcelona has renewed the contract of forward Òscar Gistau, whose previous deal was set to expire in June 2027. The new agreement runs until 2028 with the option to extend for an additional season.

Born in Salou, Gistau is a centre-forward currently playing for Barça Atlètic. He joined La Masia at a young age and is known as a pure striker who also contributes to link-up play and can operate on the wing, offering versatility to the team’s offensive structure.

The past two years have been challenging for the player due to serious injuries, including a knee injury and a lower hamstring setback, which limited his appearances. In the 2025/26 campaign, he featured in seven official matches for Barça Atlètic in Segunda RFEF and scored two goals with one assist in two Youth League games.

Now recovered, Gistau has resumed training and will start pre-season with the first team under coach Hansi Flick from July 13.

The club has shown confidence in him, recognizing his potential and determination to progress despite the recent setbacks.
