Barcelona has officially completed the signing of 18-year-old winger Jesse Bisiwu from Belgian side Club Brugge. The deal is valued at €10 million, with Barça retaining 30% of any profit made on a future transfer.
Bisiwu is a quick right winger standing at 1.86 metres, excelling in one-on-one situations. He combines pace, long strides, and strong physical attributes with the technical skills to beat defenders and create attacking opportunities on the flank. His playing style has drawn comparisons with former Barcelona star and Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele.
Sporting director Deco and scout Joao Amaral monitored Bisiwu since 2025, recognizing both his talent and advantageous contract situation—the player declined to extend his contract which runs until June 2027. These factors helped Barcelona secure the deal.
Bisiwu will initially join Barça Atlètic under Juliano Belletti but is expected to train regularly with the first team from the start. He may even participate in the pre-season training camp led by manager Hansi Flick at St George’s Park in England. The coaching staff will monitor his progress closely before deciding when to promote him permanently to the senior squad.
The club regards Bisiwu as one of its strongest long-term investment bets despite setbacks last season caused by injuries and contract issues that limited his game time at Brugge. His recent performances at the Under-20 World Cup further reinforced Barcelona’s confidence in his potential.
In his first interview following the signing, Jesse Bisiwu said: "There is no doubt for me that Barcelona is the best place for my development. I’m ready to learn and eager to help the team."
