Ruud Nijstad, the 18-year-old defender from FC Twente, has shared his football ambitions and expressed his desire to play alongside Pau Cubarsi at Barcelona in the future.

Nijstad made his professional debut this season with Twente and has already drawn attention from several European clubs, including Barcelona. He stated, "I saw Cubarsi play against Cristiano Ronaldo, and I really enjoyed watching him. Of course, my ultimate goal is to play for FC Barcelona and form a central defense with Cubarsi. But for now, I want to continue developing at Twente as I have a lot to learn."

Nijstad has been compared to former Dutch international Frank de Boer, highlighting his potential, although he emphasizes the need for gradual progress.

Twente’s technical director, Jan Streuer, confirmed Barcelona’s interest but noted that Nijstad might struggle for playing time if he moves to Barcelona at this stage.

Currently, Nijstad remains at Twente focusing on gaining experience and developing his skills.
