Barcelona has reportedly placed Real Sociedad's young defender Jon Martin on their radar, according to Spanish media. The 20-year-old has had a breakthrough season, becoming one of La Liga’s most promising defenders and recently making his senior Spain national team debut.

Martin featured in 32 matches this season, logging over 2,800 minutes and scoring twice. His performances have drawn attention from several clubs, including Barcelona, which is said to have held talks involving the player’s agent and Deco.

Nevertheless, Real Sociedad’s management is not concerned. Martin is a key player under contract until 2031, making a summer departure unlikely. The defender himself emphasized his focus on Real Sociedad and expressed pride in representing the club.

This situation suggests that Barcelona will need to explore other defensive options. Currently, the club is prioritizing extending Andrea Christensen’s contract and supporting Ronald Araujo, while focusing more on signing a forward to enhance the attack.
