On March 10, FC Barcelona officially received the first category occupancy license for phase 1C of the Spotify Camp Nou renovation. This enabled opening the 'Gol Nord' section and the supporters' area in the first tier of the 'Gol Sud' stand, increasing capacity to about 62,000 spectators.

The club is now focused on gradually filling the third tier of the stadium, aiming to complete this by the end of the 2026/27 season, boosting total capacity to approximately 105,000 fans. The work is divided into three stages covering different stadium zones and including VIP boxes.

Following the completion of the third tier, the next step will be installing the roof—a major engineering project estimated to take around four and a half months. Installation is planned for summer 2027 after the season ends to avoid disruptions during critical matches.

Special attention is being given to spectator access and evacuation, with close collaboration with local authorities to improve public transportation options, such as buses and trams, on matchdays.

Concurrently, the club also plans to expand the Johan Cruyff Arena's capacity to 10,000 spectators. This upgrade will serve the women's and youth teams and potentially the men's first team during phases of Camp Nou's renovation.

This comprehensive upgrade will significantly boost Barcelona's capacity and image. Obtaining the license for phase 1C is both a technical milestone and a sign of the club’s commitment to enhanced comfort and capacity, strengthening its sporting and commercial potential in the long term.
