Barcelona continues to closely monitor its financial operations in the 2026/27 season despite returning to the 1:1 economic rule.
The club leverages a longstanding practice of securing future sell-on clauses for departing youth players, generating significant revenue from such arrangements.
Currently, Barcelona is focused on the transfer negotiations involving Estanis Pedrola. Real Oviedo and Sampdoria are discussing a fee in the range of €1 million to €1.5 million.
Barcelona retains 50% of Pedrola’s economic rights until his contract expires in 2027, entitling the club to a share of the transfer proceeds. If the move to Oviedo is completed, Barcelona could receive up to €750,000.
Originally, Pedrola was sold to Sampdoria during the 2023/24 season for €3 million after making 10 official appearances for the Italian club. The deal included a percentage of any future sale and a €7 million buy-back option, which expired in 2025.
Pedrola’s career has rebounded following an injury-disrupted stint in Italy and a loan at Las Palmas, where he scored four goals in 20 appearances. Interest from several Spanish clubs surfaced, including Mallorca, but Real Oviedo has pushed hardest to secure his transfer. Barcelona is closely following the negotiations.
