Barcelona is reportedly considering the return of Xavi Simons, who currently plays for Tottenham Hotspur. Having developed in Barca’s famed La Masia academy, Simons is a familiar figure to the club.

Simons moved to Tottenham last summer from RB Leipzig for around €65 million. However, Tottenham’s difficult season and potential relegation have put his future in doubt. The club’s uncertain status may force them to lower player prices substantially.

The 22-year-old midfielder reportedly does not want to play in the Championship and has begun exploring options with his representatives. For Barcelona, this could be an opportunity to reacquire a promising player from their own ranks at a reduced fee, possibly around €40 million.

If completed, the transfer would help Barcelona reinforce their squad with a talented young midfielder while capitalizing on Tottenham’s troubles to secure a valuable asset.
