FC Barcelona, through its Foundation, has quickly responded to assist thousands affected by two strong earthquakes in Venezuela measuring 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale that occurred on Thursday.
The club has made an initial contribution of €100,000. This amount will increase with the implementation of a voluntary rounding-up donation system at the club’s sales points starting July 1, allowing customers to round up their purchase amount to support the aid campaign.
The funds will be allocated to humanitarian organizations working on the ground with which Barcelona regularly collaborates. These organizations provide emergency assistance, child protection, access to drinking water, food, healthcare, education, and support for displaced persons.
Barcelona’s Foundation calls on members, fans, supporters’ groups, companies, and the public to join this solidarity initiative. It also recommends making donations through established organizations such as UNHCR, UNICEF, the Red Cross, Save the Children, and Oxfam.
This initiative underlines the club’s commitment to promptly respond to international humanitarian emergencies by supporting those affected through a robust partner network.
