The FC Barcelona Foundation continues to promote projects focused on improving the emotional wellbeing of children and adolescents undergoing medical treatment. In June 2026, first team players Joan Garcia and Gerard Martín showed their support for assisted dog therapy programs implemented at Sant Joan de Déu and Germans Trias i Pujol hospitals.

These therapeutic initiatives aim to reduce stress, improve mood, and increase motivation among young patients facing serious illnesses and mental health issues. Specifically trained dogs participate in sessions designed to help overcome fears, support rehabilitation, and create positive emotional experiences within the hospital environment.

A session held at the Joan Gamper Sports City brought together players and professionals to highlight the positive impact of these programs. Since 2022, the Barça Foundation has been advancing the Hospital Amic program at Sant Joan de Déu hospital and also supports the Deixant Petjada project at Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital, targeting mental health patients aged 8 to 18 years.

Both initiatives are part of the Pulseras Blaugranas program, a proposal aimed at humanizing hospital care and providing emotional accompaniment to children and adolescents facing prolonged treatments for serious or rare diseases.
