The Barcelona and Spain midfielder greeted Anita with a smile and discussed her challenging journey to play football, given the limited opportunities in her community. "I had no place to play football at home, but when we reached the Chiapas community, they opened doors for me to play," Anita said, moving Bonmatí emotionally.
Aitana highlighted that beyond trophies, the lasting impact on society and football is what truly matters: "What remains after my career ends is what we leave behind in football and society. Coming from Barcelona to Mexico, and seeing a girl from a Chiapas community look up to you as a role model—that’s what counts."
In gratitude, Anita presented Bonmatí with a traditional Mayan outfit from her community, which the footballer accepted with emotion and reciprocated by signing a Spain national team jersey.
