Roony Bardghji has returned to Barcelona’s pre-season training, but both he and the club are aware that his future lies elsewhere for the 2026/27 season. Head coach Hansi Flick has informed Bardghji that he is not in the squad plans for the campaign.

The arrivals of Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi have increased competition in wide attacking positions, reinforcing Barcelona’s intention to find a solution for Bardghji to play regularly elsewhere.

Barcelona had hoped to finalize Bardghji’s future before pre-season began, but the 20-year-old remains with the squad while awaiting an offer that satisfies both parties. The club prefers a permanent transfer including buy-back clauses to retain future control if Bardghji develops as hoped.

Last season, the Swedish winger appeared 28 times, scoring twice and assisting four goals. Despite opportunities, he could not establish himself as a starter behind Lamine Yamal and Marcus Rashford.

Interest has come from Borussia Dortmund, where Adeyemi was signed from, and clubs in the Premier League, Serie A, and Ligue 1. A loan option to Deportivo La Coruna was linked but seems unlikely at present.

Bardghji would prefer a loan move, as he does not want to sever ties with Barcelona, his dream club. However, both sides agree that he needs consistent playing time to progress.

Barcelona aims to resolve the situation before heading to their pre-season camp in England, with neither coach nor sporting management pressuring the player.
