Raphinha’s future at FC Barcelona is becoming increasingly clear as Saudi club Al-Hilal has dropped their pursuit of the Brazilian attacker in favor of signing Crysencio Summerville.
Al-Hilal had been heavily linked with Raphinha throughout the summer and was reportedly ready to make a significant financial offer to both the player and Barcelona. However, after securing Summerville for a fixed fee of £55 million plus £10 million in variables, their interest in Raphinha diminished.
Raphinha has never shown any desire to leave Barcelona and remains fully committed to Hansi Flick’s project. Despite the prospect of a lucrative contract in Saudi Arabia, his priority is to continue competing at the highest European level.
He is under contract with Barcelona until 2028 and remains highly valued within the squad. The club has strengthened its wide positions with Anthony Gordon, Karim Adeyemi, and Jesse Bisiwu, yet this has not made Raphinha expendable.
He brings intensity, pressing, end product, and experience that younger attackers do not consistently provide. Unless a new and unexpected offer arrives, Raphinha looks set to be part of Flick’s squad for the foreseeable future and is focused on the upcoming pre-season.
