Barcelona continues its strong run in La Liga, having secured four consecutive victories, including a 1-0 win against Rayo Vallecano at Camp Nou. However, experts note notable changes in the team’s playing style.

Football journalist Paco González, speaking on 'El Partidazo de COPE', pointed out that Barcelona has lost much of its high pressing and ball-winning intensity seen in previous seasons. The team now intercepts the ball less aggressively in the opponent’s half and is more vulnerable to counterattacks, unlike their former, more intense style.

González attributes this decline in pressing to several factors: the absence of key midfielder Frenkie de Jong, repeated use of the same players, and possible selective management of effort during matches. Nonetheless, he acknowledged that Barcelona manages to secure results despite occasional lapses in their game.

In context, these changes may affect the team’s defensive stability and attacking dynamism going forward. Yet, their current winning streak indicates an ability to adapt and leverage their strengths at crucial moments. According to Paco González, while Barcelona’s press is less aggressive now, they remain a formidable contender in La Liga.
