Spanish club Alaves has shown interest in securing Barcelona winger Toni Fernandez on loan for the 2025/26 season. Fernandez is a 17-year-old regarded as one of the notable talents from La Masia academy.
Inside Barcelona, it is felt that Fernandez has outgrown the level of Barça Atlètic and requires a new challenge to continue his development and gain first-team experience. Alongside Alaves, Real Oviedo has also been linked with a potential move, according to ABC reporter Angel Garcia.
Alaves retained their place in La Liga for the 2026/27 season and are aiming to strengthen their squad by bringing in exciting young players.
A final decision regarding Fernández’s loan is yet to be taken. He is expected to be included in Hansi Flick’s preseason squad, giving him a chance to impress the head coach ahead of the new campaign.
