Barcelona will face Levante on matchday 25 of La Liga and aims to turn around their fortunes after a terrible week at the Spotify Camp Nou.
Following a 4-0 thrashing by Atlético Madrid in the Copa del Rey and a second consecutive defeat away to Girona, the Catalans have handed back the La Liga lead to Real Madrid and must now fight to keep within touching distance of Los Blancos.
Levante manager Luis Castro spoke to the media ahead of his team’s clash with Barcelona, praising Hansi Flick’s side despite their recent run and noting that playing them after two losses won’t be easy.
“They are one of the best teams in the world. It’s not the best time to play against them, because when they lose they come to the next game with maximum concentration,” Castro stated.
He emphasized Barcelona’s strong individual quality and collective aggressiveness, saying his team must lose as few balls as possible and defend together.
When asked about differences between playing Barcelona and Real Madrid, Castro said both are great teams but their styles and player spacing differ.
“There are changes in what we want to do because they are different teams when they attack,” he added, alluding to Barcelona’s possession-based game.
Finally, he commented on his team’s dressing room spirit, saying the players are giving their best and that they will fight hard and try to deliver their best performance.
