Barcelona president Joan Laporta shared his thoughts on the possibility of signing Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez. The Argentine forward has been frequently linked with a move to Camp Nou, but the club faces financial limitations.
"He’s a great player and would fit Barcelona’s system well. He’s not a player to break the bank. First, he’d have to show willingness to come, and the price should be reasonable," Laporta said on the SER Catalunya program 'Qué t’hi jugues.'
Laporta also emphasized that the club must first win the upcoming elections before finalizing transfer decisions, with sporting director Deco responsible for those choices. Current forwards Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres remain in the squad, but signing another center-forward is a priority.
It remains unclear how much Barcelona will be able to spend during the summer transfer window. Laporta’s comments indicate that the club will act cautiously but remains open to opportunities to strengthen their attack if conditions allow.
