Barcelona are preparing for a busy summer and are particularly keen to strengthen their defensive unit.
The club are reportedly looking for a replacement for Iñigo Martínez; Ronald Araújo's inconsistencies and Andreas Christensen's injury problems have not helped the backline.
Alessandro Bastoni has emerged as a candidate. According to Calciomercato, he is primarily a target for Arsenal, but Barcelona have also shown interest as they seek a new centre-back to add depth and leadership.
Bastoni has almost 300 competitive appearances for Inter Milan and has proven himself as both a defender and a leader. As a left-footed centre-back who can play the ball out from the back, he could be a like-for-like option for Martínez.
Signing him will be difficult: Inter do not want to sell, and Bastoni's contract runs until 2028, giving the Italian club leverage to demand a higher fee that could rule Barcelona out. The report says it would take a substantial amount of money to complete the deal.
