FC Barcelona are no longer ruling out the sale of an important squad member in the next summer transfer window. The club believes that strengthening the centre-forward position will require creating sufficient salary and financial space, and the sporting department led by Deco is prepared to consider parting ways with a player once regarded as untouchable.

According to an exclusive report by The Touchline, one candidate for such a move is defender Gerard Marín. Last summer there was reported interest from the Premier League that could have taken him away, but he remained after Íñigo Martínez left the club.

Now AC Milan are showing interest in signing the versatile Barcelona defender. The player has put in a strong showing this season, featuring both as a left back and as a centre-back, and the centre-back spot is exactly what Milan are looking to reinforce in the summer.

The report states that, although Barcelona highly value what Marín brings to the team, the club’s current financial situation could force them to consider offers in the region of €30 million for the 23-year-old. This season he has played 32 matches across all competitions, with nearly half of those appearances coming as a left-sided centre-back.

Marín signed a new contract last year keeping him at Barcelona until 2028, with a release clause set at €100 million. Nevertheless, if an offer around €30 million arrives, the club would find it difficult to turn it down, according to the report.
