FC Barcelona Femení’s reserve side reclaimed first place in the Primera Federación after beating Alavés away in Vitoria. Article updated: 11/02/2026 11:32 CET.
Óscar Belis’s group traveled to Vitoria despite important late absences: Maria Llorella (19) and Adriana Ranera (20) were summoned to the first team and both saw minutes, leaving the B team with changes to its lineup. Still, the Blaugrana fought through the difficulties, endured pressure and ultimately took the three points, which restored them to the top of the table.
The hosts struck first within the opening minutes. Elene Viles collected a loose ball near the edge of the box and smashed a powerful shot into the top corner past Barça’s keeper, Txell Fon (21), putting Alavés ahead early on.
Barça B had to respond and gradually turned the tide with their usual approach of pressing aggressively and controlling possession. Their persistence paid off in the second half.
Laia Marre (20) capitalized on a defensive lapse by the hosts to get in behind the goalkeeper and bring the score level. Then, shortly before the final whistle, Na alia Esco (19) did not miss in a one-on-one with the opposing keeper and netted the winner.
With this victory Barça B retook the top spot after having lost it about a month ago following a draw at SE AEM Lleida. The reserve side now sits one point above Alavés in the standings.
Upcoming fixtures will be decisive to maintain momentum: on Saturday 14 February they host Real Betis at 16:00 at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, and on Sunday 22 February they travel to Asturias to face Oviedo Moderno, who lie at the bottom of the table.
