The forward encouraged Pedri to try some of his habits.
A few months ago, Pedri explained to 'Esquire' magazine that he has been introducing changes to his daily routine to better care for his body and perform at his best, especially concerning nutrition, a process greatly influenced by Ferran Torres.
They discussed this topic together on 'El Hormiguero,' the show hosted by Pablo Motos. On Monday, Ferran explained how he gradually convinced his teammate to try new habits: "I introduced small things there, and honestly, I feel proud because it's like hitting a wall. He doesn't change easily, but I did manage to get him to adopt a couple of habits that I think are important."
One of these routines is intermittent fasting. The forward revealed that he encouraged Pedri to take up this practice: "I introduced him to intermittent fasting, he doesn't have breakfast, which cost him at first but now he thanks me and says he feels more energetic."
The Valencian explained that he usually has dinner around 7:30 or 8 p.m. and doesn't eat again until 2 p.m. the next day: "I train fasted and feel more energetic going with an empty stomach. I don't feel the need to eat breakfast; I'm not hungry."
Pedri noted that he has adapted to this routine, but on match days they have a substantial breakfast. Ferran summed it up with a phrase: "Every match day is like our birthday." And like every birthday, there is a treat. "We eat waffles with chocolate. It's the ritual," Pedri confessed.
The forward added that he likes them "with white chocolate," to which Pablo Motos replied: "That's not even chocolate, it's just sugar."
The interview also touched on other recovery trends, like the famous red light therapy. Pedri admitted he hasn't incorporated it yet: "Sometimes when I play PlayStation, the players have red eyes, the light bothers me," he joked. When asked if they meant the glasses used by Marcos Llorente, both confirmed.
