Pau Cubarsí admits he doesn’t feel external pressure but sets his own high standards to improve as a player. "I feel the responsibility of playing at the best club in the world, being under a lot of observation, but I never feel inhibited. If I want to go somewhere, I feel completely free to do so," he explains.
About the national team and World Cup involvement, Cubarsí says: "Being part of the World Cup is a dream come true. We’re a big family, a very good team that always looks out for each other rather than individual glory. You live almost a month with people you don’t know, and that experience helps you understand one another and what each person needs and wants."
Regarding personal values, the player points to the influence of his family and close circle: "They remind me where I come from and who I am. The values they’ve taught me – be myself, stay grounded, and above all be a kind person – are what I aspire to. My father best sums up these ideals and has always been a reference for me."
He also shares his favorite off-field interests: "Lately, I’ve been really into the Harry Potter saga. I started recently and loved it. At first, I thought the movies couldn’t match the books, but I ended up really enjoying them. I also often revisit Interstellar with its fantastic soundtrack."
On the pitch, he remarks: "I consider myself the same person on and off the field, with clear ideas. I go onto the pitch without any pressure, focused on giving everything and playing calmly and confidently."
