At just 19 years old, Pau Cubarsí is one of the youngest players called up to Spain’s squad for the 2026 World Cup. In an interview with GQ, he emphasized the importance of staying true to oneself and maintaining inner calm despite external pressures.

"I don’t believe showing vulnerability should be a reason for ridicule," Cubarsí said. He described himself as a calm individual grounded by family values that encourage kindness and staying humble in everyday life.

The defender noted he does not feel external pressure but sets personal goals to constantly improve: "I put pressure on myself, and it is only to become a better player." Regarding criticism, he highlighted that people often project their own struggles onto others and that it’s important not to be affected by this.

"Participating in the World Cup is a dream come true. We are like one big family living together for almost a month, which helps us understand each other better," Cubarsí added. He hopes to be remembered as a person with strong values and clear convictions who always remains himself.
